Ecotourism in Central Spain

At ETN Spain we work in close collaboration with Casa Rural El Labrao de Gredos, a beautiful holiday cottage located at the heart of the Sierra de Gredos, 1.5 hours west of Madrid. 

Its isolated location at the base of the mountain ensures unbeatable views and total peace and quiet. You will wake up to the sound of songbirds and enjoy top-class stargazing on clear nights. The neighbouring small town is only a comfortable 20-minute walk away.

The cottage can accommodate up to 12 people distributed in 5 bedrooms: 3 of them with a double bed and 2 of them with 3 single beds. There are also baby cribs available for families. All bedrooms have an ensuite bathroom with shower.

There is also a fully equipped kitchen (which is availble for guests to use) and a large combined living/dining room with a woodstove that keeps all premises at a comfortable temperature in winter. The whole house runs on self-produced solar and wind power, and the water is taken from a mountain spring located inside the property.

On the outside you will find a big terrace with amazing views to the valley, a barbeque area, a well-kept garden, a swimming pool, a playground for children, an orchard and a farmyard. Not to mention the endless hiking trails right at our footstep from which you can explore the nearby mountains, forests and villages.

The cottage is usually occupied by the guests who take part in our different activity packages: Spanish and Yoga classes, as well as Birding, Hiking and Sightseeing tours. All these activities normally run Mondays to Fridays. At certain times it is also possible, for people who want to explore the area by themselves, to book only the accommodation.

On weekends we sometimes rent out the whole premises to large groups of people who want to organize family & friend reunions or some other kind of private events. Please let us know in which way you would like to stay with us and we will try to suit your needs.
